On this page currenlu explains which information reaches us when you open currenlu.com or write to us, what we do with it, how long it stays with us and whom you can ask about it.
Who is responsible
currenlu, located at 14 Cowley Court Lane, Oxford OX4 1DE, United Kingdom, is responsible for the processing of personal data described here, on every page of currenlu.com and in the correspondence that follows from it. Questions about this notice can be sent to hello@currenlu.com or put to us on 01865 402 718.
Purpose and legal basis
The processing serves the operation and security of currenlu.com, the handling of the requests you send us, the preparation of offers and the fulfilment of duties that arise from a contract or from the law.
Depending on the case, the basis is your consent, the performance of a contract or steps taken before entering into one, a legal obligation, or our legitimate interest in a secure website. Without the details we ask for, we may be unable to reply.
Data security
We protect the information in our care with suitable technical and practical measures against loss, misuse and access by anyone without permission. Data you send through the site travels in encrypted form wherever the browser allows it.
Even careful protection cannot make data transfer over open networks entirely safe, and we do not promise absolute security. Internally, only those dealing with your request have access to the correspondence.
Cookies
This website keeps stored entries to a minimum. It does not use advertising cookies, it does not follow visitors across other sites, and an answer you give to a cookie notice stays in your own browser.
Your browser shows which entries this website has left, lets you remove them and can refuse new ones. If you block the entries the pages need, some functions of the site may stop working as intended.
Third parties and transfers
Personal data is never traded. Access is limited to the technical service providers that run our hosting and mail systems, who process data on our behalf under a written contract, and to public bodies where disclosure is required.
Some of the providers we work with may keep or process data in another country. When that happens, the transfer takes place only with the safeguards that the rules on data protection require for it.
Storage periods
We keep personal data only as long as it is needed for the purpose it was collected for, or as long as statutory retention periods require. After that it is deleted or the reference to a person is removed.
Technical log entries are deleted automatically after a short time. Enquiries and the correspondence that follows are kept while they may still be needed, and documents covered by tax or commercial law for the statutory period.
Data we collect
Opening this website leaves a few technical traces with our hosting provider: the address of your device, the moment of the visit, the page opened and basic details about the browser. We use them only to run the site safely and to find the cause of technical errors.
If you write to us through the contact form or by email, we store your name, your email address, any telephone number you choose to give and the content of your message, in order to deal with your request.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time which data we store about you, request its correction or deletion, have the processing restricted, object to it or receive a copy in a common electronic format. Consent that you have given may be withdrawn at any time; the withdrawal applies from then on.
To exercise any of these rights, a message to hello@currenlu.com is enough. To be sure that we are dealing with the right person, we may ask you to confirm your identity; our answer follows within the statutory period and is free of charge.
Besides contacting us, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
